![]() Bernard Galbally Native Tongue Bernard Galbally is the General Manager of Mana Music Australia. Mana Music has been licensing music for the Film and Television industry for over 18 years. Recent projects include Music Supervisor for Scott Hick’s feature film “Boys Are Back” starring Clive Owen, Sarah Watt’s new film “My Year Without Sex”, television shows Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation, City Homicide (Series 1, 2 and 3), Summer Heights High, Bondi Rescue, Satisfaction and others. Bernard also licenses music for the advertising sector. Recent campaigns include Tennis Australia, Tourism Queensland, Queensland Motorways, PAL Pedigree Dog Food, Holden, Bank West, Grosby Shoes, Ikea, Hutchinson 3 Mobile, and others. Bernard has been working in the music industry since 1989 and his experience ranges from artist manager, music venue operator (The Continental), international tour promoter (Jimmy Webb, Charles Mingus Big Band, Grant Lee Phillips, Peter Green, John Schofield, John Hammond et al) and event co-ordinator (inaugural New Years Eve Concert at Federation Square, Melbourne Food and Wine Festival Blues Concert, Melbourne Jazz Festival, etal). As an artist manager, Bernard was integral in the resurgence of Renée Geyer’s career which has seen her release three albums, achieve sales in excess of 70,000 units in Australia, receive a Gold Record (Tenderland) and inducted into the Aria Hall Of Fame. Other artists that have achieved significant increase in profile, record sales and recognition include The Go-Betweens (ARIA winners Best Adult Contemporary Album 2005), Robert Forster (ARIA nominee 2008), Mia Dyson (Best Blues and Roots Album 2005 ARIA awards), David Bridie (2004 ARIA winner for Best Soundtrack Album), and My Friend The Chocolate Cake. Bernard is actively involved with various not for profit organisations including The Freeza Program as a Mentor, The Wantok Music Foundation, Jirrawun Arts, and Our Community. |
![]() Rob Scott Sandcastle Music After an extensive career as Network Co-ordinator and Program Director at Australia’s national contemporary radio network Triple J, Rob Scott moved into the music business creating ABC Music contemporary label Fly. Here he signed artists of the calibre of Vassy, Andy Clockwise, The Morning After Girls, Endorphin and Deepface. In January 2009 Rob formed Sandcastle Music , a new publishing and recording entity with partners in film & tv music supervision, film production, advertising and with access to recording studios. Sandcastle publishes songwriters and film composers and has a sub-publishing arrangement with respected UK company Warp. Sandcastle has recently released ARIA nominated artist Jen Cloher’s second album “Hidden Hands” and introduced Folk Uke to Australian audiences. On the publishing and synchronisation front Sandcastle has signed roots reggae artist Declan Kelly, string and performance artists CODA, alt. country act King Curly and recently the much talked about Western Australian blues singer/songwriter Abbe May. Sandcastle has also recently completed a deal with Elefant Traks for publishing and master sync for the label. |
